Palo Alto: Todd Collins announces bid for school board

PALO ALTO -- Palo Alto resident and community volunteer Todd Collins is the first person to announce his candidacy in the November election for one of three Palo Alto Unified School District board seats.

Those seats currently are held by board President Heidi Emberling and trustees Melissa Baten Caswell and Camille Townsend.

Collins, an investor, served on the citizens' oversight committee of a school bond program and the school board's Enrollment Management Advisory Committee.

"The community deserves high standards from its board -- transparency and openness; thoughtful, datadriven decision making; a willingness to take on hard issues and make decisions; a willingness to identify our challenges and opportunities for improvement," Collins said in his announcement. "It also deserves board members who will listen to the wide spectrum of views in our community, and give them all 'a seat at the table' when resources are allocated and decisions are made."

Collins and his wife, Elisabeth Einaudi, have three children.
